Official figures have just been announced by the South African Tourism dept for the periods of 2014 and 2015 for tourists landing into South Africa - and they clearly show the large decline in tourist arrivals in 2015 due to the swift and badly thought out plan to introduce the Un-Abridged Birth Certificate rule. Tourism is 10% of the country's GDP and the tourism industry has complained loudly to the Govt to remove/amend this rule. Thankfully the South African Govt has listened and amendments are on their way.
